Arthur C. Bluhm Instantly Killed

Log Deflected By Stump Strikes Him and Causes Death: Lived Here 44 Years

A rolling log Saturday morning at a logging camp near Mulino, struck Arthur Charles Bluhm, the operator of the camp and instantly killed him.

By the time the other loggers removed the log life was extinct and Coroner Morris Holman was called. He decided that an inquest was not necessary.

Mr Bluhm, in charge of the camp, was standing near by as the workers rolled a log down the hill. One end of the log struck a stump, causing the other end to knock him down and roll upon his chest. His life was crushed out instantly.

Mr Bluhm was born in Canada November 26, 1884, and was the son of the late Frederick and Christina Bluhm. With his parents he arrived in Clackamas County from Canada when he was one year old, and since that time had made his home in the Beavercreek country. He was unmarried.

He is survived by the following brothers and sisters: August, John and William Bluhm, Beavercreek; Christ, Oregon City; Mrs Flora Fisher, Park Place; Mrs Della Fisher, Misses Elsie and Athaleen Bluhm, Portland.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 1:30pm in the Oregon City Lutheran Church, with Rev. Kraxberger of Oregon City and Rev. O.T. Just of Portland officiating. Interment will be in the Lutheran cemetery at Shubel. The body is at Holmans & Pace mortuary in Oregon City.
