A.J. Blocker

A.J. Blocker, age 86 of Whitney, died July 12, 1995 at Harris Methodist Hospital in Bedford, Texas. Funeral services were Friday, July 14, 1995 at 2 p.m. at the Marshall and Marshall Chapel in Hillsboro with Minister Preston Cotham and the Rev. Joe Bob Boyd officiating.
Mr. Blocker was born on July 22, 1908 in the Bethel Community, Hill County, Texas. He was the son of George Christopher and Lillie (Smithson) Blocker. He lived in the Bethel Community all of his life. He married Gladys Ruth Sessums, February 7, 1930. She preceded him in death on September 29, 1986. He was a retired farmer.
Mr. Blocker is survived by three daughters, Vivagene Copeland and her husband Dick of Hurst, Annette Weeks and her husband Don of Southlake and Joyce Gilbert and her husband Bill of DeSoto; three sisters, Marie Griffin of Blum, Mary Lou Williams of Cisco and Margaret Holder of Cisco; three grandchildren, Lanette Dean of Boyd, Randy Weeks of Roanoke, and Jeffery Gilbert of Hillsboro; five great grandchildren, Amber and Danielle Copeland, Jennifer Dean, Joseph Dean and Jill Dean; and a large number of nieces and nephews.
The family requests that all memorials be made to the Peoria Cemetery.
