Mrs. Hattie Tinsley Blocker, 95, former employee of Lasko Metal Products and resident of Riverside Drive, died Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Theodore Durham officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 2:00 - 8:00 P.M. and Sunday after 12:00 noon at the funeral home.

The Hickman County native was the daughter of the late Grover Tinsley and Birdie Rebecca Goodwin Tinsley. On August 16, 1935 she married Ottis Odell Blocker who preceded her in death on September 25, 1992. In her early life, Mrs. Blocker operated several restaurants sharing her love of cooking with others. She also enjoyed gardening, quilting and was a very devoted mother and grandmother. She was a member of Thompson's Station Church of Christ.

Survivors include five daughters, Shirley Woods of Santa Fe; Lavonda Green of Summertown, Carolyn Taylor, Glenda Hannah, and Dianne Alexander, all of Columbia; four sons, Odell (Cathy) Blocker of Rally Hill Community; Jerry (Josephine) Blocker of Culleoka; Larry Wayne (Leona) Blocker and Randy Blocker, both of Columbia; half-brother, G. C. Tinsley of Hickman County; daughter-in-law, Margaret Blocker of Harrogate; 29 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren; and 26 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Vernon Blocker; two sisters, Irene Slate and Pauline Wade; three brothers, Cleveland Tinsley, Arthur Tinsley, and J. B. Tinsley; and three grandchildren, Keith Taylor, Cheyenne Blocker, and Patricia Blocker.

Active pallbearers will be Odell Blocker, Jerry Blocker, Larry Wayne Blocker, Randy Blocker, Ricky Taylor, Anthony Woods, Larry Wayne Blocker, Jr., and Jimmy Woods. Her grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
