Sarah C. Barnes, wife of James William Barnes, passed from this life Friday March 9th, at the home of her son, Monroe, near Nebo. She had been in failing health for two years but confined to her bed only two weeks.
She married James William Barnes March 21, 1879 and to this union were born five children. Two daughters, Sarah Emma and Winnie, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held on Sunday and she was laid to rest in the McGinnis cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, her partner of joys and sorrows for nearly fifty years; three sons, Monroe, Alexander Weaver and Christopher Morris Barnes, all of the Nebo area; three stepsons, John, Marion and William Barnes; four grandchildren.
Sarah Barnes confessed her faith in Christ and was baptised in October, 1911. She lived a true Christian life ever afterward and often spoke during her illness of being eager to enter into the peace and rest of Eternal life.
