LONG ILLNESS TAKES LIFE OF A.P. BLEWETT
Funeral To Be Held From First M.E. Church Tuesday
Alfred Perring Blewett, 47, retired Bloomington mail carrier, died at 11 p.m. Saturday in his home at 801 west 7th street following a several months illness of bright's disease.
He is survived by: the widow, Mrs. Ida Blewett; three sons, Joseph F., Charles F., and Harry E.; three daughters, Louella, Margaret and Bertha Anna, all at home; one half sister, Mrs. David Harris, of Palo Alto California and one uncle, Alfred H. Perring, Dade City Florida.
Mr. Blewett was an active member of the First Methodist church. He was prominently affiliated with the Modern Woodmen, K.O.P., I.O.O.F. and Masonic lodges and was a member of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics. Prior to his retirement because of illness, Mr. Blewett took an interest in raising rabbits and was a member of the local Rabbit Breeders' association.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the First Methodist church, with Rev. W.H. McLean, pastor, in charge. Attorney J.B. Wilson will speak briefly. Music will be furnished by a male quartette in charge of Dr. Harry Stephenson.
The Masons will give their ritualistic work at the grave in the Vahalla Cemetery, with Ed Fletcher active chaplain of the services.
Active pallbearers will be: Ila Dobson, Fred Weaver, Schuyler Coffey, Rice Wampler, Meredith Dillman and Woodrow Stogsdill.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Charles Thomas, Hugh Baker, Milt Borden, Stacy Harrell, J.T. Acuff and Ed Fletcher.
