Delores Jean (Houser) Blevins, 78, of Spiceland passed away Sat., Jan. 19,2013, at Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born Aug. 17,1934, in Mooreland, a daughter of the late Raymond Eugene and Wilma (Vores) Houser.

Delores had been employed by Firestone for 20 years and eventually retired from Chrysler Corp. following 10 years of service. She was a very loving person and was loved by everyone she met. Delores especially enjoyed and loved children. She enjoyed riding horses, boating on Lake Cumberland, gardening, and flowers. Delores at one time attended the Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed attending the Women's Fellowship Bible Study at the First Baptist Church. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Henry County Hospital and staff and the Ball Memorial Hospital and staff for their exceptional care.

Delores in survived by her husband of 61 years, Marion "Jr." Blevins of Spiceland;son, Duke Wayne Blevins of Spiceland;two granddaughters: Kristina Mae Blevins of Spiceland and Tinsley Brooks Washington of Richmond;two sisters: Kay (husband, Gleason) Nicholas of New Castle and Elaine (husband, Royce) Mathews of New Castle; tow brothers: Larry (wife, Millie) Houser of New Castle and Steve (wife, Pat) Houser of New Castle; special sister-in-law: Elva Hollars of New Castle;best friend: Colene Stephens of New Castle; and several loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Delores was preceded in death by her daughter: Emily Kay Blevins; brother: Jimmie Houser and sister-in-law: Janice Houser.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Services in New Castle with Lucas Ketring officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound cemetery.
