Ernest Howard "Ernie" Blevins, age 72, of North Tazewell, Va., died Monday, March 14, 2011 at his home. Born June 25, 1938 in Princeton, W.Va., he was a son of the late Fred James Blevins and Kathleen Wilson Belcher Blevins. Mr. Blevins was a member of Dial Rock Church of God for many years. He worked for Lance Foods, Inc. for over thirty years, retiring in 2000. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-one years, Martha Crawford Blevins; one brother, Russell Blevins; brother-in-law, Robert "Bucky" Crawford; mother-in-law, Suzy Dainese Crawford Elswick.
Survivors include one son, James Ermal Blevins and wife, Amy of North Tazewell, Va.; one daughter, Maria Blevins Waller and Tony Waller of North Tazewell, Va.; seven grandchildren, James Ermal Blevins, Jr. and wife, Audranna, Aaron David Blevins, Molly Blevins, Katie Blevins, Shauna Waller, Eric Waller, and Ryan Waller; two brothers, Carl Blevins and Lee Roy Blevins and fiancé, Abbie Rowe, all of Princeton, W.Va.; one sister, Freda Carter and husband, Ken of Princeton, W.Va.; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Earls and husband, Dudley, and Barbara Barnes and husband, George, all of North Tazewell, Va.; two brothers-in-law, Curtis Crawford and wife, Ginger of Lynchburg, Va. and Donald Crawford of North Tazewell, Va.; his loyal and special friend, Jimmy McGuire; and faithful pets, Bits and Pookie.
