Mavis Claire Bledsoe, 101, a homemaker, of Las Vegas, passed away June 6, 2010.

Celebration of life Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 26, at St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road.

"Mavis Bledsoe 101 years, formally of Boise, passed away peacefully at home in Las Vegas, Nev. She was born October 26, 1908, daughter of Thomas and Mary Richards of Safford, Ariz. Her father died when she was eight years old. Her mother remarried and she was raised by her loving step-father, Fred Boscoe. Being raised on a ranch she was educated in private schools in Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. July 6, 1928 she married Clyde Bledsoe, a civil Engineer for Arizona Highway Dept. They had two children. In 1942 they relocated their family to Anderson Ranch Dam where Clyde was employed by Morrison Knudsen Co. Clyde continued with MK for 36 years. Boise was home base between on site construction jobs. Mavis and children accompanied Clyde to jobs in several US States and Canada. After their children were grown Mavis went with Clyde to jobs in Iran and Columbia SA. In 1966 they purchased a home in Boise, where Mavis remained while Clyde worked in Vietnam until retiring. After which they loved their time together at home. They enjoyed the company of family, friends and neighbors. They had been married 58 years when Clyde died in 1986. Mavis was active in St. Mary's Catholic church. She became a member of the Alter society in 1966 until 1999. She then moved to live with her daughter and family in Las Vegas, Nev. She enjoyed good health, a spunky disposition, quick wit and the love of all her family. Everyone will miss her good cooking and all the other wonderful qualities she possessed. She is survived by her son Jack Bledsoe and his wife Donna of Santa Clarita, Calif.; Daughter Janet Casey and her husband John of Las Vegas, Nev.; Seven Grand Children, 14 great grand children and 10 great, great grand children. A celebration of Life mass was held June 26th at St. Viator Catholic Church in Las Vegas. Internment services with Father Tom Faucher of St. Mary's Catholic church officiating, will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday June 28th at Dry Creek Cemetery , 9600 Hill Rd. Boise, Reception following Internment will be at St. Mary's church 2612 W. State St., Boise."
