RICHLANDTOWN, Pa. ‹ Edith I. Abe, 91, of Richlandtown, formerly of Cumberland, Md., died Friday, April 7, 2000, at the Zohlman Nursing Home, Richlandtown.
Born in Somerset County, she was the daughter of the late Ephraim K. and Savilla (Yoder) Blauch. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Royal W. Abe on April 7, 1982; one grandson, Bryan Blosser in 1956; three sisters, Annie Llewelyn, Emma Kidwell and Edna Liller; and five brothers, Earl, Bruce, Floyd, Lester and Robert P. Blauch.
Mrs. Abe, along with her husband, owned and operated the former Abe's Grocery Store on McMullen Highway in Pinto, Md., for many years. She was a charter member of the Pinto Mennonite Church where she received an award for 20 years perfect attendance at Sunday school. She also served as church librarian and enjoyed quilting with the church sewing circle. After moving to Telford, Pa., in 1990, she attended the Rockhill Mennonite Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Janet Blosser and husband James, Telford; three grandchildren, James Blosser II and wife Lois, Conover, N.C., Gary Blosser and wife Judy, Wauseon, Ohio, and Brenda Hendricks and husband Fran, Telford; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cresaptown, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Pinto Mennonite Church on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lester T. Hershey officiating.
Interment will be in the Pinto Mennonite Cemetery.
