Carmen Williams Blanton, 94, of 3308 West Second Ave., Belle, WV, died June 15 in Kanawha Valley Memorial Hospital, Charleston, WV after an extended illness. Mrs. Blanton was born September 28, 1889 at Red Bush, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. N. M. Williams of Red Bush. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Her husband, Oscar Blanton, preceded her in death March 24, 1970. Surviving are one son, Hurshel Blanton of Belle, WV; two daughters, Mrs. Edith Blevins, Lexington, and Miss Margie Blanton, Belle, WV; a sister Mrs. Lexie Williams Haney of Lexington; four grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services held June 18 at Fidler and Frame Funeral Home, Belle, WV with Elder Robert Custer, Sr and Rev. Omar Rucker officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park at South Charleston.
