Funeral services for Myrtie Alice Blankenship Arvin, 67 years of age, were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Good Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie Warren in charge assisted by Rev. Carl Loy. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Arvin, daughter of Nannie & Henry Blankenship, was born in Taylor County in October 1881. She united with the Good Hope Church at an early age. In September 1900, she united in marriage to Will Arvin. To this union 8 children were born, 4 sons preceding her in death. Surviving besides her husband, 1 son, John Ed of Buffalo, and 3 daughters, Mrs. Ruth Lane of Rockville, Mrs. Anna Hunt and Mrs. Ella Hunt of Finley; 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Mrs. Gracie Parrott and Mrs. Mary Ratcliffe, of this city; 2 brothers, Will Blankenship of Louisville and Owen Blankenship of Finley; and many other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Lat Short, Will Hadley, Roy Morris, Bob Young, Mitchell Whitlock and Sammie T. Benningfield.
