Blankenship, Aline

Aline Blankenship, 85, of Valdosta, died Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at her residence. She was born on Dec. 26, 1923, in Scottsboro, Ala., to the late James Henry and Mary Marilda Austin Jones. Mrs. Blankenship was a homemaker and a member of Lake Park Church of God.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Jackie and David Noble, David and Michele Blankenship, Gary and Ann Blankenship and Sheila and Buck Solomon; eight grandchildren, Delane Blankenship, David Wayne Noble, Stephanie Adams, Angela Coats, Ashley Blankenship, Chris Blankenship, Daniel Blankenship and Shea Blankenship; 10 great-grandchildren, Allison Noble, Caleb Blankenship, Emily Blankenship, Lindsay Noble, Ethan Blankenship, Corey Blankenship, Kaylon Coats, Austin Coats, Savannah Adams and Andrew Adams; one sister, Bessie Howard.

Mrs. Blankenship was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herman Claudie Blankenship; three brothers, David Raymond Jones, Earl Jones and Clyde Jones; two sisters, Edna Thompson and Juanita Jones.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Tatum and Dr. W. Keith Sandlin officiating.

Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
