Funeral for Boniford Neal Blankenship, 71, of Moulton will be Friday, May 1, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. R.C. Borden officiating.
Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Blankenship, who died Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at Lawrence Medical Center, was born June 20, 1937, in Lawrence County to Ensley Blankenship and Carrie Warren Blankenship. He was a farmer and had served in the Alabama National Guard. He was preceded in death by his father, Ensley Blankenship; brother, Barney Blankenship; and sister, Christie Blackwood.
Survivors include his wife, Etta Mae Blankenship; son, Tony Carl Blankenship and his wife, Allison, of Moulton; daughter, Angela McCay and her husband, Dwight, of Moulton; two brothers, Donald Blankenship of Town Creek and Densie Blankenship of Tennessee; five sisters, Jewel Dean Key of Moulton, Charlene Terry of Courtland, Barbara Terry of Moulton, Carolyn Tatum of Georgia and Vonda Patrick of Moulton; his mother, Carrie Blankenship of Moulton; and two grandchildren, Austin Lee Blankenship and Jessica Nicole Blankenship.
Pallbearers will be Jamie McCay, Carlos Key, David Key, Jerry Blankenship, Steven Blankenship, Scott Terry, Buddy Terry, Byran Terry and B.J. Alexander.
Honorary pallbearers will be Coy Sutton, Keith Wright, Robert Holcomb, Doug Puckett and T.W. Nelson.
