He was employed as a boilermaker by the Chicago and North Western Railway for a number of years. He moved to California in 1941. He was survived by 1 son Herbert at Tampa, Florida; 2 grandchildren, 6 sisters: Mrs. Fred Thompson, Mrs. Martha bland, Mrs. James Gilland all at Norfolk; Mrs. Claude Hausch at Camiralla, California; Mrs. E. A. Hille at Glendale, California; Mrs. Elsie Woessner at Saticoy, California; 3 brothers: Paul at Fremont, Otto at South Gate, California; Leo at Camiralla, California.
