The funeral for John L."Jack" Blandford of Atlanta, a lawyer and a judge of the Chamblee Municipal Court, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at All Saints Catholic Church. The burial will be at Arlington Memorial Park with military honors.

Mr. Blandford, 54, died of cancer Sunday at his home.

He was a trial lawyer and partner in the firm of Blandford & Werbin, and had been a Chamblee Municipal Court judge since 1970.

He was a retired brigadier general in the Georgia Army National Guard. He headed a troop command in Decatur that comprises the Georgia Guard's support companies until his retirement last year.

John Lloyd Blandford was born Nov. 4, 1937, in Greenville, S.C. He graduated from the Citadel; served in the Army as a second lieutenant; and graduated from John Marshall Law School.

He belonged to the State Bar of Georgia, Atlanta Citadel Club, Elks and All Saints Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife, Drew Harris Blandford; two sons, Jefferson B. Blandford of Lawrenceville and J. Lloyd Blandford II of Atlanta; his mother, Ludy Stogner Blandford of Atlanta; two brothers, James C. Blandford of Tampa, and Joseph B. Blandford Jr. of Arnold, Md.; and a sister, Jane Vaughn of Norcross.
