Richard J. Blanchard, 61, of Uxbridge, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2005, at Worcester Skilled Care Center, after a long illness.
Born in Woonsocket, R.I., he was the son of Morene A. (Palmer) Blanchard of Uxbridge and the late Frank E. Blanchard, and had been a lifelong resident of Uxbridge.
He was a 1962 graduate of Uxbridge High School and a graduate of Bryant College in Smithfield, R.I., where he earned a bachelor's degree in accounting.
Mr. Blanchard was employed as an accountant for Killeen Machine and Tool in Worcester for nearly 20 years. He had previously been employed at the former ATF Davidson and Whitin Machine Works in Whitinsville.
He had served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was a lifetime member of the Uxbridge Rod and Gun Club and a member of the Taft Memorial United Methodist Uxbridge Church in Uxbridge.
Besides his mother, he leaves one son, Michael Blanchard of Uxbridge; one daughter, Lisa Blanchard of Whitinsville; a brother, Frank E. and his wife, Virginia Blanchard, of Cullman, Ala.; two nephews; a friend, Kathy Highland of Uxbridge; and his former wife, Beverly A. Blanchard of Uxbridge.
A funeral service with full military honors will take place Tuesday, Nov. 8, at 10 a.m., at the Buma Funeral Home, 101 North Main St., Rte. 122, Uxbridge.
Visiting hours are Monday, Nov. 7, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery on Mendon Road in Uxbridge.
