Charles was born on March 13, 1933, in Montgomery County to Winston and Lena (Bennett) Blakely. He was a member of the Duck Hill Baptist Church. He was also a member of the VFW Post 4488. Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a retired bank documents courier.
Charles was preceded in death by his father, Winston Blakely; one daughter, Angela Blakely; and one son, Charles (Chuck) Blakely Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Blakely of Kilmichael; three daughters, Judy Norris of Douglasville, Ga., and Janet Hickman and Vickie Jones, both of Grenada; his mother, Lena Blakely of Duck Hill; two sisters, Trudy Choate and Patsy Burrus, both of Duck Hill; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
