(Iola) Jean Alcorn, 73, of Pacific Washington, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2007 after a short struggle with cancer. Jean was born May 28, 1934 in Auburn to Abbie and Claud Blake Sr. Raised in Auburn, marrying (Irving) Doug Alcorn from Enumclaw, she was a lifetime Auburn and Pacific resident.
Jean is survived by two sisters, Vivian Parker of Auburn and Linda Barber of Bonnie Lake, one brother Claud Jr. of Shelton Wa., Aunt Evelyn Orr of Seattle. Grandchildren; Amy Adams and Trisha Alcorn, and great grandchildren Dakota Adams and Jocelyn McDonald, plus many nieces and nephews.
Jean was best known for her abilities and willingness to care for others. She was the family doctor, psychologist, counselor, and mentor, a nice talk over several cups of coffee followed by a joke or two seemed to be her best cure-all. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Doug, son Doug Jr., and her daughter Robin. Four brothers Richard, Darrell, Robert, William Blake and five sisters Juanita Blaker, Leona Klein, Florence Ciersch, Lila Ashby, and Ada Elzig.
A graveside service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery in Auburn July 21, 2007 at 10 a.m. with a memorial at the Eagles on M Street SE, Auburn at 11am following the service.
Jean will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Doug, children Doug Jr., and Robin.
