Mr. Alfred William Blair, 801 Elm Street, Honey Grove, died suddenly at 10:42 a.m. Monday, June 24, 1985, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Paris.
Blair was born at Mount Ida, Arkansas, November 25, 1910, a son of Tom and Willie (Whittington) Blair.
He was married June 22, 1935, at Hugo, Oklahoma, to Mildred Henrietta McCleary.
Mr. Blair was a retired Honey Grove School System employee and a member of the First Baptist Church at Honey Grove.
Graveside services and burial was scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 1985, at Oakwood Cemetery, under the direction of Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home. The Rev. Bobby Holt officiated.
Pallbearers were Hoyt Ivey, Gene Huggins, W. T. Blair, James Martin, Billy Burnsed and Bedford Wilkerson.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Mildred Blair of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Pat Szalay of Rockwall; one brother, Lloyd Blair of Honey Grove; two sisters, Mrs. James "Celia" Vessels of Paris and Mrs. Jewell Henderson of Farmers Branch; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
