Jan C. Baldwin, age 55, of Napoleon passed away May 3, 2008 at her home surrounded by her loving husband and family and Hospice of Jackson & Oaklawn. She was born January 17, 1953 in Jackson the daughter of James and Barbara (Reber) Blagg.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Blagg. She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Lee Baldwin; one son, Jesse Mazur; her father, James Blagg of Jackson; one sister, Joy Frizzell of Jackson, one niece Lainie (Tom) Lape of Fort Wayne, Ind.; one nephew, Brandon (Angie) Reynolds of Jackson; four grand-nieces, Malina Lape, Olivia, Anna and Julia Reynolds, who all called her "Ya-Ya" which means "aunt". She is also survived by one aunt, Virginia Reber, and two cousins, Lana (Gary) Lewis and Sherry (Jim) Smoyer and her best friend, Ann Gier of Jackson.
Baldwin was a member of a special group called the Ya-Ya Sisters. She also attended Grace Church in Jackson where she took part in a Ladies Bible Study Group.
At her request cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Grace Church, 2692 N. Dettman Road in Jackson on Wednesday, May 7, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Bailey officiating. Funeral arrangements were handled by Hampton-Kurtz Funeral Home in Hanover.
Baldwin was a 17 year, double lung transplant recipient and in lieu of flowers friends who wish may make a memorial contribution to the Jackson Transplant Group/Foote Hospital, c/o Pulmonary Rehab, 1100 E. Michigan Avenue, Suite 102, Jackson, MI 49201 or to Hospice of Jackson & Oaklawn.
