Dora M. Blagg, 89, Mt. Vernon, passed away at 8:40 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2009, at Nature Trail Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon.
She was born in Carmi on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1920, a daughter of Rufus and Lena (Easton) Blagg.
Graveside services will be held at10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at East Salem Cemetery in Jefferson County; the Rev. Les Sinks will officiated. Interment will follow.
Dora is survived by her sisters, Daisey Lucille Blagg of Mt. Vernon and Mabel Pauline McLaughlin of Mt. Vernon; a brother, Charles Victor Blagg and wife Betty A. of Louisville, Ga.; sisters-in-law, Betty Ann Heath of Phoenix and Delores Blagg of Mt. Vernon; nieces and nephews, Patricia Ann Brown and husband Ernest R. of Mt. Vernon, James R. Brown and wife Teresa and daughters: Blythe Lee Brown and Bethaney Brown, all of Mt. Vernon, Cindy Isaac and husband Rob and children Bria and Kelsey Korris and Megan Isaac, all of Woodlawn, Gary and Sheri Blagg of Phoenix, Harry and Kathy McLaughlin of Dyersburg, Tenn., Steven Blagg of Las Vegas, David and Carol Blagg of Louisville, Ga., Mike and Nancy Blagg of Phoenix, Sue and Hayward Wells of Stapleton, Ga., Nancy and Paul Crawford of Mt. Vernon, Carolyn and Kenny Clark of Mt. Vernon and Denise and Dave Hudgens of Phoenix; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-grand nieces and great-grand nephews.
Her parents; two brothers, Rufus Edward Blagg and Joe Leroy Blagg; and brother-in-law, Harold "Teen" McLaughlin, preceded her in death.
Dora worked at the Mode O' Day Garment Factory in Mt. Vernon and Wayne City Garment Factory prior to retiring. She was a member of East Salem Baptist Church; she loved travel, fishing and gardening
