Born in Trenton, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Marie Lettiere Blackwell. Karen resided in Yardville before moving to Mansfield Township in 1990.
She was a 1969 graduate of St. Anthony's High School and received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Trenton State College in 1974. Karen retired as a registered nurse with Mercer County Special Services, working with children who had special needs for 22 years.
She is survived by her husband, Timothy Neylan Sr.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy Neylan Jr. and Kiersten Rogenmuser-Neylan and Jeffrey and Katherine Neylan; grandson, Cole Neylan; sister, Holly Mirabelli; three nieces, Heather Phillips, Tara LaSala and Erin Accardi; aunt and uncle, Ann and Charles Pihokken; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, William and Beth Neylan, Michael and Julie Neylan, Patrick and Debbie Neylan and Maureen Poole.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 260 High St., Mount Holly, with Rev. John Czahur officiating. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton Township.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to Joseph F. Cappello School, 1072 Old Trenton Road, Hamilton, NJ 08690, Attention: Christine Sevilla, to honor her work with special needs children.
