Geneva Willoughby Blackwell, 83 of Winchester, widow of James Harrison Blackwell, passed away on Wed., April 14, 2010 at the Clark Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Blackwell was born in Montgomery County on Aug. 20, 1926 to the late Nelson and Sally Howard Willoughby. She was a homemaker and a member of the Northside Baptist Church.
Survivors include, two sons, Karl Blackwell of Winchester and James Blackwell of Lexington; five grandchildren; a brother, Nelson Willoughby of Winchester; and a sister, Della Oaks of Winchester. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Elizabeth Nunnelly.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Fri., April 16 at Scobee Funeral Home by Bro. Jesse Kline. Burial will be in the Clarmont Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Chad Blackwell, Ben Blackwell, Philip Blackwell, Joshua French, Richard Miller, and Taylor Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of the Clark Regional Transitional Care Unit, the staff of Hospice East, Cathy Flinchum, Dr. Joseph Ott, and Iva Stewart.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thurs., April 15 at Scobee Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Northside Baptist Church, 15 Pendleton St., Winchester, KY 40391 or to Hospice East, 407 Shoppers Dr.
