Word has been received of the death of Belott, Texas, resident Lona Rebecca Pyle Blackmon, 97. She died Wednesday at East Texas Medical Center, Crockett.
Mrs. Blackmon was born Sept. 14, 1903, in Houston County. She was a school teacher there and a member of Village Baptist Church, Oklahoma City.
Survivors include three sons, Roye Leylon Blackmon Jr. and Troy L'Wayne Blackmon, both of Crockett, Texas, and Floyd Herberth Blackmon, Idabel; 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Donnie Pyle Butler, Crockett.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roye L. Blackmon Sr.; an infant daughter and a grandson.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel, Crockett, Texas. Her sons will officiate the service. Burial will follow in New Energy Cemetery.
