Coy Alfred "Bill" Blackmon, age 69, of 998 Hadden Road, Dothan, died Friday, January 12, 2001 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, January 14, 2001 at Sunset Memorial Park with Rev. Travis Free officiating and Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. on Saturday.

Mr. Blackmon was born November 23, 1931 in Dale County and lived in the Rehobeth area most of his life. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. Blackmon was engaged in farming for 30 years before retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Rehobeth Baptist Church.

Survivors include a brother, Wilton Blackmon, of Dothan; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. I.C. Kelley, of Rehobeth, Mr. and Mrs. A.D. Hale, of Ozark, and Mrs. W.F. Green, of Greenville, Tennessee; eleven nieces and eight nephews also survive.

Active pallbearers will be Joe Collins, Bobby Clemmons, Billy Fowler, Mike Kelley, Stanley Blackmon and John Paul Kelley.
