Claris "Clytee" Blackerby, age 99, of Grapevine, Texas passed away on Friday, October 16th, 2009 in Fort Worth. Clytee was born November 27th, 1909 in Farmersville, Texas to James Walter and Jennie Mariah (Killian) Patterson. She moved to Waxahachie in 1936 with a minister's family to help in establishing an Assemblies of God Church. In 1940 she married William Lester Pruitt. They had one daughter, Billie Faye. Bill passed away in 1950. Clytee married Clyde Blackerby in 1958. Clyde passed away in 1971.
Survivors include daughter, Billie Dix; four grandchildren, Paige Hocker, Clay Dix, Rob Dix and Nancy McBride; seven great grandchildren, Jesse Hocker, Will Hocker, Mason Dix, Angel McBride, Celestial McBride, Sevan McBride and Brendan McBride; one brother, A.E. (Pat) Patterson of Lake Whitney and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and family at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 with services to follow at 2:00 pm at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Hillcrest Burial Park.
