Vaneta Blacker, 93, of Monticello died August 4, 2005 at Arthur Home, Arthur. Funeral services were held at Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with burial in Monticello cemetery.
Mrs. Blacker was born October 15, 1911 in Milltown IN, d/o Jesse and Clara Byrum Pfeiffer. She married Everett H. Blacker (1911-1991) on June 25, 1931 in Indianapolis. He died January 30, 1991. Surviving are three sons: Harold of Bailey CO; Wilbur and Roger, both of Monticello; two daughters: Doris Morris of Bement; and Carolyn Mitchell of Monticello; a brother, Ralph Pfeiffer of Robinson; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister.
Mrs. Blacker was a homemaker. She was a member of Monticello United Methodist Church; 50-year member of Piatt County Home Extension; and the Friendly Neighbors Club. Memorials may be made to Tatman Village or John and Mary E. Kirby Hospital, Monticello.
