Last Saturday morning, Illinois Central passenger train due into Monticello at 10:32 a.m. struck a large Buick car in which were riding Park Blacker, his son, Stanley, and his brother, Clyde Blacker. All were thrown through the top of the car and a distance of some forty feet from the car. Stanley Blacker was picked up unconscious and it was seen at once that his injuries would prove fatal, he dying at about one o'clock that afternoon, without regaining consciousness. The two men suffered bad lacerations and bruises and their escape seems short of miraculous. Doctors arrived on the scene in a very few minutes and rendered first aid.
George Stanley Blacker was fourteen years and one day old, having been born February 22, 1910. Besides his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Park Blacker, he is survived by one sister, Mary; and one brother, John and a host of other relatives.
Short services were held in the home on Tuesday morning by Rev. Morton C. Long, on account of the father not being able to attend the public funeral, which was held in the United rethren Church in White Heath. The interment was in the Monticello cemetery. The funeral was one of the largest ever held in White Heath.
