Alberta Blackburn Age 83, of Indianapolis, died May 17, 2008 at St. Vincent Hospice. She was born November 11, 1924 in Chagrin Falls, Ohio to the late Albert E. and Lillie (Copestick) Raab.
Alberta was a 1942 graduate of Shortridge High School, after which she immediately began a career with American United Life as a bookkeeper, retiring in 1956. She later worked and retired from Indiana National Bank. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, where she was a charter member of the Choir. Alberta had been active in the Millersville O.E.S, and was a member of the Lawrence V.F.W. Post #261 and Speedway American Legion Post #500 Ladies Auxiliaries.
Besides her memberships and volunteering at her church she enjoyed traveling with her family, and was an avid bowler.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, George K. Blackburn, Jr.; daughter, Debra C. (husband Jeff) Browder; granddaughters, Christine and Nicole; and three great-grandchildren.
