Charles Foster Blacka Jr., 72, of Monessen, died Sunday, May 18, 2003, in Mon Valley Hospital. A son of the late Charles F. and Ethel M. Barnes Blacka, he was born in Arnold City on July 22, 1930. Mr. Blacka was a member of Covenant Christian Church of Belle Vernon and Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659. Formerly of Carroll Township, he had resided in Monessen since 1992 and was retired from Kimball Systems. A U.S. Marine serving during the Korean Conflict, Mr. Blacka was a private courier for the U.S. embassies in England, Morocco and Casa Blanca. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Myra L. Stricklin Blacka; one son, Charles F. Blacka III of Bethel Park; one daughter and son-in-law, Kimberley and Joseph J. Bozik of Monessen; one brother, Edward E. Blacka of Monroeville; one sister and brother-in-law, Gail and James Koslosky of Ocala, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Shelby D. DeRosa Ryan of Reading and Michael J. DeRosa of Shadyside.
