Orangeburg - Mildred Katherine Amaker Black, 67, a retired real estate agent, died Saturday at her residence. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial, directed by Thompson Funeral Home, will be in the Amaker Family Cemetery. Mrs. Black was born in Orangeburg County, a daughter of Fred D. Amaker and Sallie Hair Amaker. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Surviving are her husband, Henry E. Black; a daughter, Kathy B. Chipman of Sandy, Utah; three sons, Terry O. Black of Cameron, Henry D. Black of Orangeburg and James D. Black of Norway; three sisters, Gladis A. Hallman of West Columbia, Martha A. Campbell of Lexington and Laverne Amaker of Plant City, Fla.; a brother, Hilton Amaker of Orangeburg; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. © The Post and Courier, Charleston, SC, 25 Jun 2000
