Elsie A. (Black) Berlein, 85, formerly of the Six Mile Run area, died Saturday, August 20, 1994, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born February 04, 1909, at (North Point) Six Mile Run, she was a daughter of the late Newton and Retta (O'Neal) Black. She was married to Carl Berlein. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a number of nieces and nephews and other more distant relatives, many of whom reside in the Broad Top area. The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by three (four: Lamar Black died as a child) brothers: Homer, Hartman and Martin Black; and two sisters, Olive Miller and Amanda Fessler. Mrs Berlein was of the Protestant faith. She retired from Akron (Ohio) General Hospital, after more than 30 years of service as a nurse's aide Interment was made at 9:45am, Wednesday, August 24, in the Duvall Cemetery, Six Mile Run (Bedford Co., PA)."
