Estherville – Services for Mrs. Carl A. (Edith) Rosenow, 79, will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mitchell Juergens officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. She did Wednesday, July 22, 1987 at the Good Samaritan Center, Estherville.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. Saturday.
Edith Deloris Black was born April 9, 1908 at Dunlap, the daughter of Harry and Annette (Quick) Black. She attended Dunlap School. On March 25, 1928 she was united in marriage with Carl A. Rosenow at Arion. The couple moved to the Estherville area in 1942 and farmed until moving into town in 1958. She has been a resident at the Good Samaritan Center.
She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints, Spirit Lake; past president of American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the Estherville Senior Citizens.
Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Jack (Alma) Benjamin, Estherville and Mrs. William (Lillian) Joor Hot Springs Village, Ark.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Fred Black, Woodbine and Kenneth Black, Longview, Wash.; five sisters: Beatrice Rosenow, Solon; Mrs. Elwood (Violet) Hendershot, Kansas City, Mo.; Genevieve Grant, Anthon, Lavonna Cornelius and Lida Schlensig, Dunlap.
She was preceded in death by her husband, May 15, 1975; parents; two brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 25, 1987)
