Anna G. Black, 78, of Parkersburg passed away December 22, 2006. She was born September 24, 1928 in Parkersburg. She was a daughter of the late George W. Black and B. Marguerite Hays Black. She was Christian by faith and a first grade school teacher with 35 1/2 years of service she retired from Nash School. She graduated from Marietta College and did her graduate work at OU and Marshall University. She was also a charter member of Alpha Delta Kappa Pi.
She is survived by: brother George E. Black and wife Dianne of Washington, WV, four sisters; Blanche M. Black of Parkersburg, Clara B. Bee of Parkersburg, Mildred E. La Gard and husband Robert of Chillicothe, OH, and Mary V. Dillon and husband Tom of Oroville, CA, Several nieces and nephews including Jeffrey Black, Cathy Durnell, Brian N. Bee, Debra Dillon, and Tammy Dillon, several great nieces and nephews including ;Bria Durnell Becker, Devin Durnell, Carmen Black, Marlo Black, Devin Dillon-Broussard, and Robert Thomas Sahagun, and care givers Elaine Honaker, Helen Adams, and Carlyn Dunham.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her uncle William J. Burns, and brother-in-law R. Neil Bee, niece Terry Sahagun, and great niece Megan Dillon.
Services will be Wednesday 11:00 AM at The Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Pastor Kent Boone officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
