Charles Alan Black, age 49, of Plano, Texas, passed away suddenly May 4, 2008, in Dallas, Texas.

Charles Alan's work for God is now completed on this earth and he will forever glorify God in Heaven. He was born April 20, 1959, in Tupelo, Mississippi, the son of Charles Ivey and Elizabeth Ann (Hall) Black. He was very happily cared for by the Volunteers of America and was an assembler for G.A.R.C. He is survived by his parents, Charles and Ann Black of Plano; sisters, Laura and her husband, Scott Shepherd, of Irving and Jackie and her husband, Joe Gallagher, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; niece and nephew, Sarah and Matthew; and other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2008, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home during a visitation on Thursday, May 8, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to The Humane Society, 2719 Manor Way, Dallas, TX 75235, Volunteers of America Texas, 1424 Hemphill, Fort Worth, TX 76104, or the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association, 8588 Potter Park Dr. #500, Sarasota, FL 34238.
