Annetta Marilyn Black of Bellville, Texas passed away on Saturday February 16, 2013 in Houston. She was 75 years old. Annetta was comforted in her final days by the presence of her loving family.

"Netta" was raised in Northwest Indiana. She met Jerry, who would become her husband for 57 years, at Glen Park Baptist Church. Together they raised three children and moved to the south suburbs of Chicago, where they were involved in the scores of school, church and neighborhood activities that made them an important part of the community. She moved with her family to Baytown, Texas in 1977, where they lived until retiring to Bellville in 1993.

Netta was an accomplished seamstress with a talent for design. She sang in the church choir and loved to work with the flowers in her garden, collect antiques and John Grisham books. Mostly, Netta enjoyed planning family functions and doting after her Texas family and grandchildren. She was active in the First Baptist Church of Baytown, then later at Brenham's First Baptist.

She was preceded in death by parents Bill and Mary Jones, sister Betty Giles, brother Billy Jones and son Daniel Black. She is survived by her husband Jerry Black, her daughter Debra Collins and son David (Betsy) Black, grandchildren Seth Collins, Lanie (Jeremy) Garrett, Melody Black (fiancée Justin Brown) , Travis (fiancée Jaylynn Julian), Justin (fiancée Rita Janacek), Jessica and Emily Black.

Netta will be missed by her many friends and large immediate and extended family – all of whom are only happy to know that she is now peacefully in heaven.

Visitation will be on Wednesday February 20th at 9 am at the Earthman Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521. Funeral service will follow immediately, beginning at 11am. Interment after the service will be at Memory Gardens in Baytown. The family asks that any donations be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Houston, 2900 Weslayan, Houston, Texas 77027.
