Eugene P. Black was the son of Dr. Robert Cope Black, originally from Screven Co., GA, who lived for 40 years in Americus, Sumter Co., GA. Dr. Black had three wives; Eugene was the son of his second.

Orme are invited to attend the funeral of Mr. Eugene Pinckard Black from the residence of his son, Mr. Charles H. Black, on Peachtree road, at 11 a. m. Wednesday, March 10, 1909. The following named gentlemen will please act as pallbearers and meet at the office of H. M. Patterson & Son, 96 North Forsyth street at 10:30 a. m.: Mr. Sanders McDaniel, Mr. Paul Goldsmith, Mr. R. L. Foreman, Mr. Robert Alston, Mr. Andrew Calhoun, Mr. Marion M. Jackson, Mr. Austell Thornton and Mr. Wilmer L. Moore.
