Thomas was born South of Wrightsville, GA. to William Henry Black and Arie Copeland.He came to Gainesville GA with the Simpson family and Cecil Fountain. He lived in the Chicopee Village, worked at the Mill, Married Alice Brownlow, They had 4 children in the Village. During WWll he worked at several Defense Plants. Wilmington,NC and Marietta, GA. His first job was at age 13 at a swamill in Johnson Co GA. He moved to Hall County, GA and worked at Chicopee Mill again until 1955. (He married Alice J Brownlow Oct 11, 1930.) He moved the family to Miami FL in 1955. Retired from Pan Am airlines in 1973. He is still missed by his children and family and friends.
