Elsie G. Black, 97, formerly of Three Springs Star Route, died at 11:10 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 1997, at the Woodland Retirement Center, Orbisonia, where she had been residing.
Born May 27, 1900, in Clay Township, Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Mary (McNeil) Black.
Surviving are a daughter, Elizabeth Kuhstos of Cassville, three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by four brothers.
Miss Black was a member of the Cherry Grove Church of God, Three Springs Star Route.
For many years, she had owned and operated a combination grocery store and gasoline station at Cherry Grove.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia, with the Rev. James S. Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Cherry Grove Cemetery, Three Springs R.D.
Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday, from 7-9 p.m., and Sunday, from 9 a.m. until the hour of services.
Memorial contributions, in remembrance of Elsie G. Black, may be given to Woodland Retirement Center, P.O. Box 280, Orbisonia, Pa. 17243.
