Jeanne V. Skibell, 66, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on May 21, 2007. She was born June 16, 1940, in Pauls Valley, Okla., to her mother, Emma Jane Bivins.
She grew up in the Oklahoma City area before graduating from Southeast High School in 1958. She worked until retirement at the Oklahoma Insurance Department as the first director of the Bail Bond Division. She met the love of her life and moved to Lubbock with her husband of 16 years, Irvin Skibell.
A professional shopper, she also enjoyed golfing, reading, a very active social life, and yearly snow-skiing retreats to Crested Butte, Colo. She returned to the Edmond area where she was lovingly devoted to caring for her husband. She cherished the time she spent with her two kids and their families, watching her grandchildren play and grow. She was known for her generosity and was discreetly active in her charitable endeavors.
She was surrounded by loved ones as she gracefully succumbed to a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her soul-mate, Irvin Skibell; her loving children, Scott Denman and wife Anna and Jennifer West and husband Derek; grandchildren, Ryan and Emma; sister, Ann Prichard; step-children, Alan and Susan Skibell-Press, David and Cindy Winston, Joseph and Barbara Skibell, Steven Skibell and Michael Cole; and step-grandchildren, Desiree, Aaron, Jacob and Arianna.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 28, 2007, at All Souls Episcopal Church, 6400 N. Pennsylvania.
