Pauls Valley Democrat The Democrat Mon Aug 29, 2011, 03:29 PM CDT Pauls Valley, Oklahoma - Rance Howard Bivins, 66, of Franklin, Texas died on August 24, 2011, after a lengthy illness. He was born on March 16, 1945 in Foster, Okla., to Homer and Iris Bivins. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Gary and Larry. Rance is survived by his wife, Elisabeth Valerie Bivins of Franklin; his daughters, Jennifer Gaines of Oklahoma City and Sandra Bivins Burke of Apache, Oklahoma; son, Brent Bivins of Oklahoma City; brother, Nelson Bivins of Richardson, Texas; sister, Marilyn Scroggins of Oklahoma City; sister, Myra Bebout of Elmore City; brother, Russell Bivins of Elmore City; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Rance served in the Marine Corps after graduating from high school, and then began a long career working in the commerical bakery business. He enjoyed riding motorcycles with his wife and brothers and took many long trips seeing the country. He was a gifted guitar player and singer, and spent many hours entertaining his family. Late in life, he began learning Native American style beading. No funeral services will be held.
