Frederick Frederick R. Bisser, 62, of Van Dyne, passed away peacefully on Monday, Oct 14, 2002, at home, following a courageous battle with cancer. Fred was born Sept 12, 1940, in Berlin, the son of Fred and Frieda Pollex Bisser. He married Karen S. Nitschke on Aug. 15, 1970, at Salem United Methodist Church, Ridge Road. Fred resided in Oshkosh prior to his marriage and later moved to Van Dyne. He was employed for 37 years at the Ted Hoyer Company, Oshkosh. He was very active at St. John's Lutheran Church, Neki-mi, as a Sunday School teacher, usher and council member. He was also a past member of the Van Dyne Lions Club. Fred enjoyed baseball. When he lived in Oshkosh, he proudly played on the Legion Team. Later, Fred developed a love for riding his Harley Davidson. His family and friends knew him best for his love of God, family and his sense of humor. He is survived by his wife, Karen; two daughters, Cynthia Bisser and Janet Bisser, two sisters, Louise (Arlyn) Dieck and Alice (Jim) Gazecki. He is further survived by nieces, Gayle Dieck and Tina Gazecki; nephew, Jon Dieck, and other relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his much loved dogs, Shep and Sam. Services: The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct 17, 2002, at St John's Lutheran Church, 491 Old Oregon Road, Nekimi, with the Rev. James E. Reiff officiating. Burial will be in Estabrooks Cemetery. Visitation: The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at Mach Funeral Chapel and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at church. A memorial will be established.
