In late 1920's Bismarck, real name was Herman Malezer, was accidentally killed when he was standing near the Big Lost River "fishing" by lighting a stick of dynamite with his pipe and throwing it in the river to kill the fish. At some point he threw the the pipe in the river and held the lighted dynamite which blew him up.
