ALBERT H. BISHOP
Albert H. Bishop, 94, died at Putnam Memorial Hospital Wednesday night after a brief illness. He was born in Pownal on July 4, 1868, son of Lucius and Sarah Bishop.
Mr. Bishop had outlived one brother, John, who died in 1950, and a sister, Mrs. Arthur (Alice) J. Elwell, who died in 1953, both of whom had lived on Burgess Road.
A baker by trade, he worked for many years at the Gibson Bakery on Main Street and later had his own bakery in North Bennington which he had operated in the 1940's. He had also been employed in Troy for a few years.
Mr. Bishop had spent the last six years of his life at the Warner Nursing Home at 300 South St.
He leaves two sons; Lloyd of Cohoes, N.Y. and Harold of Ilion, N.Y.; two daughters, Mrs. Frances B. Welsh of Troy, N.Y. and Mrs. Cecilla Kelly of the West Coast; seven grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 pm at Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home. The Rev. Stephen C. Greene, Second Congregational Church, pastor, will officiate. The family will be in attendance at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 9 pm. Interment will be in the Village Cemetery.
