Ginny worked as a teacher for a year then became a stay-at-home mom and was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. The Hardy family lived in Southeast Huntsville for many years. Virginia loved attending Chase Park Church of Christ and dedicated her life to the teachings of the Bible. She was the first to prepare a dish for someone going through a difficult time, and when she could no longer cook, she loved giving a Steakout gift card. There are also many examples of Ginny and Sam offering their home to kids who needed a place to live. Ginny loved the outdoors and gardening and always had a birdhouse buzzing with life. She also loved to fish with her grandchildren, play cards & dominos and was an avid reader. All her neighbors and friends say she was generous, caring, and independent.
Survivors include her children, Lyndel Hardy (Hank O'Steen), Darrell Hardy (Kathy) and Bruce Hardy; her grandchildren, Matthew Hardy (Pooja), Stephen Hardy (Clare), Samantha Hardy, and Callie Brust (Adam); and her great-grandchildren, Simran Hardy, Emerson Hardy, Teagan Hardy, Naomi Ruffin, Xavier Ruffin, Jett Hardy, Cora Brust and Henry Brust.
Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:30 PM on Sunday, June 12th, 2022, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home in Huntsville, Alabama. The visitation will be followed by a small graveside service at Oak Grove Cemetery in Franklin County, Alabama.
