Rev. Bishop was pastor of a Presbyterian Church in Davenport, Iowa in 1874. For the years 1874-1876 he was pastor of the Presbyterian congregations in Summit and Eldridge, Iowa. In 1877 he began to serve as pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Columbus Junction, Iowa, but then he died on August 17 that same year, at age 62.
