SKOWHEGAN - Brian R. Bishop, 62, of Skowhegan passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2010, at Togus Veterans Affairs Hospital in Togus of an unexpected illness. He was born May 28, 1947, in Troy, the son of the late Gerald S. and Myrtle (Gerry) Bishop.
Brian served in the Army, serving in Vietnam.
Besides his wife of five years, Jean M. Bishop of Skowhegan, he is survived by his children: Chuck Mullen and his wife, Michelle, of Skowhegan, Stacy Skidgell and her fiancˇ, David Breingan, of Skowhegan, Thomas L. Mullen of Skowhegan, who lived with him, Mary Bishop of St. Albans, Brian Bishop Jr. and his wife, Joyce, of Plymouth, Christine Greenlaw and her husband, Roger, of Newport, Christopher Kuntz and his wife, Marie, of Pittsfield, and Jason Kuntz of Plymouth; 14 grandchildren, Roxanna Mullen, Dustin Perkins, Donald Belsito, Jeremy Belsito, Jessica Skidgell of East Madison, Tiah Lewis of Skowhegan, Ricky McCarty Jr. of Skowhegan, Robert Lewis Jr. of Skowhegan, Treasure Ricker, Grace Bishop, Zachary Greenlaw, Sarah Greenlaw, Christopher Kuntz Jr. and Max Kuntz; three great-grandchildren, Abrionna, Dayna-jean, Nevaeh and one special little guy, Colt Spofford; uncle Jack Gerry and his wife, Julie, of Unity; sisters Linda Young and her husband, Ronald, of Waldoboro and their children Debra, Jean, and Ivery, Barbara Root and her husband, Robert, of Loving, N.M., and their children Ellen, Rhonda, Herbert, and Honey. He was also loved by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents; and three grandchildren, Britney and Peter Price and Joshua Bishop.
Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 29, at the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Augusta. (Morning Sentinel 3/23/2010)
