Edith Bishop VanArsdall, 86, of Bowling Green died Aug. 27, 2008, at The Medical Center.
The Barren County native was born Sept. 2, 1921. She was retired after 34 years as a seamstress at Fruit of the Loom/Union Underwear. She was a charter member of Hillvue Heights Church and attended Madison Avenue General Baptist Church. She loved to crochet and help other people in any way she could. She loved her family, friends and her church family. Anyone who met her loved her. She was a daughter of the late Sam Bishop and Eva Lena Walker Bishop and the wife of the late Charles W. VanArsdall, who died Jan. 12, 1957. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ina Mae VanArsdall Basham; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include a granddaughter, Jessica Shea Basham White and her husband, Dusty, of Bowling Green; a great-granddaughter, Shelby Layne White of Bowling Green; a son-in-law, Rayburn Basham of Bowling Green; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, special friends and her church family.
Burial was in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
