Dale Darwin Bishir was born in Lamberton, MN, the son of Clyde and Helen (De Long) Bishir, on June 11, 1932. He died peacefully at the Hilltop Health Care Center in Watkins, MN on January 27, 2014, at the age of 81 years.
His family moved to Springfield in 1941, and he attended Springfield High School. Dale was united in marriage to La Donna Pauling at Zion Lutheran Church in Lamberton on September 9, 1951. Dale was a truck driver many years for John Morrell and Co., Sioux Falls, SD, and then moved to Minneapolis and started an auto supply business with his brother Dean, which they called B and B Auto Supply. He later operated an automotive repair shop with his sons near Sioux Falls and later got back into OTR truck driving with his wife La Donna. After that, he bought a service station in Lamberton, formerly owned by his grandfather, and operated it with his son Terry. He then retired to the South Haven, MN area and spent a lot of time camping and fishing with his family in northern Minnesota. Dale loved racing his two race cars on dirt tracks. He also enjoyed flying his Piper Cub and Taildragger airplanes in addition to hunting deer and pheasants, playing cards, throwing horseshoes, working on puzzles, and watching Nascar.
He is survived by sons- Terry (Jo) Bishir, and Todd (Connie) Bishir, both of South Haven; brothers- Dean (Wilma) Bishir of Minneapolis, and Ken (Rachel) Bishir of Springfield; sisters- Kay (Roger) Moe of Springfield, Mona (Clem) Moreau of Faribault, and Karen (Clinton) Olson of South Haven; 3 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; sister-in-law Sandy (Phil) Sharp; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife La Donna; daughter Deanna Buboltz; and his parents.
