POLICE NEWS-Justice Leckle issued warrant Saturday morning for Frank Bisanz, living north of the city, near Peter Fries, for an assault on one Charles Hochberger in that he with clenched fist did beat and with his feet did kick and otherwise did abuse aforesaid, contrary to the statue made and provided. The parties were brought into court about 3 o’clock in the afternoon, and after a partial hearing the case was amicably settled between them.

Whiskey did it. A party of men drinking in a saloon three miles north of Dubuque last Saturday night, got into a quarrel and then fell to fighting, and then finally a man named Samuel Thompson drew a revolver and shot Bisanz in the abdomen , inflicting a wound from which he will probably die.

Frank Bisanz , who was shot by Sam Simpson Saturday night, was somewhat –easier yesterday. There is a mere chance he may recover.
